The Neuro-X Lab will be become the research group of the MUSC Biobehavioral Medicine Division effective December 31st, 2024.
All research activities will continue uninterrupted, however the Neuro-X Lab website will no longer be maintained.
What Is Neuro-X Lab?
The Neuro-X Lab is a multidisciplinary neuromodulation, engineering, and innovation laboratory housed within the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina and directed by Dr. Bashar W. Badran. Neuro-X fosters an environment of neurotechnology and innovation to begin addressing complex medical and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Addiction and Pain
We are recruiting cocaine users, opioid users, and healthy controls for treatment trials.

Depression
These studies are enrolling both individuals with depression in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Smell Loss
Did you have a COVID and lose your sense of smell? We have an ongoing trial that may provide some relief.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
In the Fall of 2023, we will begin a new clinical trial funded by MUSC to help manage EDS symptoms at home.
